Brenda recently came into our classroom to discuss the process of having a book published. It was wonderful to see how engaged the students were with Brenda’s activities and knowledge. Brenda’s kind and warm nature had the students comfortable enough to share their wonderfully crazy writing ideas. Her approach to writing was one of humour and care and this shone through in her work with my students. We were very lucky to have Brenda come in and support our writing lessons. The students reflected on how much they would love to have their stories published and have others read them as Brenda has done. Brenda provided an immeasurable amount of inspiration for our students.

Thank you so much for your wonderful presentations. The students (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. It was fascinating to learn some of the truths behind the lovely finished products and what being a writer really means. Your activities were engaging and very relevant to our current writing unit, giving students a terrific boost just prior to their assessment. The follow-up classes had plenty to discuss and ideas to work on.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for sharing your time and expertise with the Year 6 students on Friday. You were a wonderful presenter, had many ideas that the students could use within their own writing and also gave an insight into the writing industry! Thanks again – it is greatly appreciated.

Brenda’s presentation was engaging, beautifully presented and targeted at improving writing skills in our school. She empowered our students to be more courageous and creative in their writing and we have seen an impact on both teaching and learning. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Brenda. I would highly recommend her.

Brenda gave an engaging and inspirational talk to my class about writing, her journey and her books that left the children super eager to write. Her book, Trusty Trekkers, is imaginative, funny and perfect for serial reading with my Foundation class. They were so excited for each new chapter.
